In 2019, Jacob’s future looked uncertain. Facing incarceration and struggling to find direction, he began working with an Offender Workforce Development Specialist (OWDS) and committed to making lasting changes while on probation. He embraced every class, assignment, and opportunity for growth, determined to build a better life.

After completing probation, Jacob began working as a delivery driver for a high-end furniture company, allowing him to build a stable foundation for his future. He will take the next step in his career by completing a CDL Training program at Hutchinson Community College and has already secured a position with Butler Transport upon completion, where he will earn between $1,500 and $1,800 per week.

Today, Jacob credits the guidance, encouragement, and support he received from the OWDS with helping him change the course of his future. He is proud to have a career path, clear goals, and a new life built on stability and purpose.

“I still remember you telling me that one day I would become a success story. At the time, I wasn't sure I believed it. Today, I can finally say you were right,” Jacob writes.
